Dynamics of the birational maps arising from F0F_0 and dP3dP_3 quivers

The dynamics of the maps associated to $F_0$ and $dP_3$ quivers is studied in detail. We show that the corresponding reduced symplectic maps are conjugate to globally periodic maps by providing explicit conjugations. The dynamics in \Rb^N_+ of the original maps is obtained by lifting the dynamics of these globally periodic maps and the solution of the discrete dynamical systems generated by each map is given. A better understanding of the dynamics is achieved by considering first integrals. The relationship between the complete integrability of the globally periodic maps and the dynamics of the original maps is explored

Los conflictos urbanísticos: sus causas y sus protagonistas. Una reflexión a partir de la experiencia de Cataluña

En Cataluña, durante los últimos años, los conflictos relacionados con el uso y la gestión del territorio entre la administración y la ciudadanía han aumentado, especialmente durante el proceso de elaboración y ejecución de algunos planes urbanísticos. Este artículo pretende analizar cuáles son las causas que los originan e identificar los actores que intervienen y, por lo tanto, fijará la atención en las estrategias de movilización que desarrollan los ciudadanos y los discursos que elaboran para poder incidir en el proceso de planeamiento, así como también en las actuaciones que la administración local realiza.In Catalonia, during last years, the conflicts related with the use and management of the territory among the administration and the citizenship have increased, especially during the process of drawing up and execution of some urban plans. This article pretends to analyse which are the causes that originate them and to identify the actors that intervene and, therefore, it will pay attention to the strategies of mobilization that citizens develop and the discourses that create trying to influence the planning process, as well as to the actions that the local administration undertakes

Si bien el paradigma de la gobernanza apuesta por un escenario de apertura y un mayor pluralismo en la elaboración e implementación de las políticas públicas, la proliferación de los conflictos relacionados con el uso y la gestión del territorio es indicadora de la falta de canales suficientes para la implicación y participación de la ciudadanía durante el proceso de planificación del territorio. El artículo propone analizar algunas de las nuevas problemáticas en las formas de gobernanza territorial actuales a través del estudio de las causas tanto del aumento de los conflictos territoriales como del surgimiento de las movilizaciones sociales que protagonizan dichos conflictos

Planejament estratègic urbà a Venècia : un pla entre la moda i la necessitat?

A finals de l'any 2000, i amb l'arribada del nou alcalde Paolo Costa, Venècia va optar -també- per l'elaboració d'un pla estratègic per al municipi, a fi d'afavorir un posicionament més incisiu del sistema urbà venecià en els processos econòmics, socials i territorials del nord-est italià i d'Europa. Des d'un bon principi, l'alcalde va delegar totes les competències al regidor de planificació estratègica i a l'Oficina del Pla, l'encarregada de promoure els debats amb els principals agents socioeconòmics, i de perfilar els continguts del document. El Pla Estratègic de Venècia va ser aprovat el mes d'octubre del 2004. D'una banda, aquest article analitza el llarg procés de creació del pla i la metodologia implementada i, de l'altra, en qüestiona la necessitat.À la fin de l'année 2000 et avec l'arrivée du nouveau maire Paolo Costa, Venise a opté -aussi- pour l'élaboration d'un plan stratégique pour la municipalité afin de favoriser un positionnement plus incisif du system urbaine vénitien dans les procédures économiques, sociales et territoriales du nord-est italien et de l'Europe. D'abord, le maire a délégué toutes les compétences au conseiller municipal de planification stratégique et au Bureau du Plan, qui a été le responsable de la promotion des débats avec les principaux agents socioéconomiques et du dessin des contenus du document. Le Plan Stratégique de Venise a été approuvé le mois d'octobre de 2004. Social and Demographic Determinants of Low Fertility in Brazil

Brazil has experienced a rapid demographic transition, going from an estimated TFR of 6.28 children per woman in 1960 to 1.90 in 2010 (IBGE 2012). In this dissertation, I explore the social and demographic determinants of low fertility in the country. The first study analyzes the association of human development, gender equality, and work-childrearing support environment with the likelihood of having a birth in 1991, 2000, and 2010. The results show a declining relative importance of the Human Development Index (HDIm) with time, while the gender equality and work-childrearing support environment increase its relative importance. The emergence of these associations in 2000 and 2010 is likely to be driven by a rise in the share of professional and managerial females in the labor market. In the second study, I explore the extent in which childbearing is a constraint on the employment of mothers with young children in Brazil. Specifically, I test whether an exogenous increase in public child care centers between 2007 and 2009 is associated with an increase in labor force participation and hours worked of mothers with the youngest child aged four or less. The results indicate that the increase in child care availability had a positive impact on female labor force participation and hours worked, specially for married mothers with lower levels of education attainment. The third study assess the plausibility of a demographic technique, the P/F Brass method, used to estimate Brazil’s official TFR. The method increased the TFRs observed in Census Surveys by approximately 12% in 1991, 10% in 2000, and 19% in 2010. Because of the dramatic fertility decline in Brazil in the age groups of 15-19 and 20-24, specially in 2010, and the violation of the stable population assumption, I conclude that the Brass method should no longer be used when estimating the official TFR in the country

GResilient index to assess the greenness and resilience of the automotive supply chain

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to suggest an Index entitled GResilient Index to assess the greenness and resilience of the automotive companies and corresponding supply chain. Design/methodology/approach: An integrated assessment model is proposed based on Green and Resilient practices. These practices are weighted according to their importance to the automotive supply chain competitiveness. The Delphi technique is used to obtain the weights for the focused supply chain paradigms and corresponding practices. The model is then tested using a case study approach in the automotive supply chain. Findings: The case study results confirmed the applicability of this Index in a real-world supply chain. The results show that the Resilient supply chain management paradigm is the one considered as the one that more contributes for the automotive supply chain competitiveness. Research limitations/implications: The proposed Index was developed in the automotive sector context therefore it could not be adjusted to a different one. Future research could consider other aggregation methods for the Index construction. Practical implications: Supply chain participants will be able to evaluate the performance of their companies or supply chain in terms of Green and Resilient paradigms. From policies to practices: factors related to the use of inclusive practices in Portugal

Inclusion is considered a foundation for quality education, and teachers’ inclusive practices are essential for success in mainstream classrooms. Portugal has been making progressive improvements in its policies for inclusive education, although there is little consistency in school practices within or between schools. Moreover, data identifying the personal and career variables relevant to teachers’ inclusive practices in Portugal are scarce. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between teachers’ inclusive practices and personal and career-based characteristics, including gender, level of teaching, years of experience, roles performed at school, and perception of inclusive resources. The participants were 924 teachers who worked in private and public schools in Portugal. Regression analysis showed that perceived inclusive resources, level of teaching, and gender predicted variance in inclusive practices. Mean difference analyses revealed that teachers at the lower levels of teaching, females, and teachers reporting more inclusive resources had the highest scores for inclusive practices. Auditoria em São Tomé e Príncipe: Situação Atual e Perspetivas Futuras

São Tomé e Príncipe não dispõe de mercado de valores mobiliários, mas possui um tecido empresarial em crescimento, com sociedades anónimas e diversas sociedades por quotas. Salienta-se, também, o desenvolvimento do turismo, nestes últimos anos, e perspetivas futuras de extração do petróleo, construção de um porto de águas profundas e a criação de zonas francas. Assim, a relevância da auditoria financeira como fator essencial para credibilização da informação, apresenta-se, também, como umas das vias de atração do investimento, proporcionando condições para o desenvolvimento económico e social. Verificámos que na auditoria do setor privado, houve uma estagnação no seu desenvolvimento, após a promulgação da legislação para o exercício da profissão de auditor. Sendo que há necessidade da reforma da lei que deu origem ao exercício da auditoria financeira e, consequente, à institucionalização da profissão. Com o objetivo de aferir a importância atribuída à auditoria realizou-se em questionário aos responsáveis financeiros das empresas em São Tomé e Príncipe. Os resultados demonstraram que a atividade está pouco desenvolvida. No entanto, cerca de metade das empresas inquiridas audita as suas contas, e dessas, metade fazem-no voluntariamente, sendo notório o reconhecimento de vantagens na existência de auditoria financeira. Concluímos que, existem condições que proporcionam a evolução da auditoria financeira em São Tomé e Príncipe
